A Nursery Rhyme is a traditional poem or song for young children in Britain and many other countries, It has been argued that Nursery Rhymes set to music aid in a child's development. Research also supports the assertion that music and rhyme increase a child's ability in spatial reasoning, which aid mathematics skills.
Through play, children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments. This is one of the main reasons why in Magic Dragon project we work on these songs and chants. In this video, five-year-old kids, sing "Who took the cookie?". Learning and play: great blend. Don't you think so?
